The problem is that it is easier said than done. Yet he is certain that with perseverance he will meet a certain truck, and through it get all that he deserves; ultimate power, immortality. And a harem. My Immortal Myth-Take is a satirical fantasy short story, an entry in the Royal Road Community Magazine.

Goreblaster - a beefcake whose prime ingredient is over-the-top monster slaying, topped off with the delicate frosting of the desperate need for validation and adoration. Under the (mostly) helpful guidance of his hapless assistant slash manager, Percy, the pair turned his natural skills (and incredibly unrealistic physique) into a career of seemingly unending foe-crushing-heroics. Goreblaster is a series of short stories (~10k words each) following the exploits of the barbarian and is a pulp trash novel by intention! Full of questionable uses of the written language and some satire of the fantasy genre. (Think Conan x Dangermouse x a stale cheese sandwich). It is also a meta-fiction within my usual Deathforged universe - a seemingly unending series of unpublished pulp novellas of no known author, the various handwritten tomes having been found all across the world of Othea over several decades.

Emma Longstone is not a regular person; she's famous for holding the world record for most Sweepstakes won by a single person! Her luck is good to the point where she's won the lottery multiple times in a row, accurately predicted the value of stocks years in advance, and never lost rock-paper-scissors. Unfortunately, things aren't always rosy at the top; having earned a fortune from her efforts as a professional sweepstaker, business owners everywhere despised her. That's why they assassinated her. On her way to the afterlife, her journey was disrupted by a deity called Tchadd. He offered her a chance to escape a brutal afterlife if she agreed to work for him. She agreed and was hired as an Isekai Winner, a person with qualities impressive enough to save entire worlds. Now she finds herself using sweepstaking to save worlds in non-intuitive ways!(Note: this description is misleading)

A mixture of light and dark. A mixture of solemn and laugh out loud. A mixture of sci-fi and fantasy. There's something in here for everyone, but each story has something in common. They all begin in the real world - but each story has it's own distinct twist. Have you ever experienced the corrupted underground scene of high school conkers? Gambling, dirty dealings, blackmail? Ever met the girl of your dreams but wondered whether she's a vampire? Have you ever met a dragon... made of cake? If no is the answer to any of these questions, you ought to know what you are missing. Matty Millard's collection of short stories is not one to be missed. Featuring the prize winning short story "Weapons of Mass Destruction", placed first in the GKBC Inc 2013/14 competition by crime novelist Tim Weaver. I've taken the majority of the chapter down now as this is due to be published very soon, but Weapons of Mass Destruction is still there to be read. I will link to the published book soon!

When evil kings summon kids from Earth to be used and abused as fast-leveling soldiers in their petty wars, the Isekai Police will be there to stop them. A group of ex-isekai protagonists in their own right, they utilize their collective skills to fight for the end of summoning abuse. Artyom Choi, cynical ex-hero and founding member of the organization, is sent to investigate the presence of an Earther on an innocently idyllic World where no summoning has supposedly taken place. His mission: rescue the Earther and figure out how he got there. Dark secrets lie beneath the surface of paradise, however. Will he be able to find this new hero and get out before whatever malicious forces brought them there doom them both? Book 1 has been finished! You can read Book 2 here in parallel or even before Book 1 if you want more TOAL than Artyom! https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/47708/the-isekai-police-hero-summonings-are-overrated This story is meant to be a deconstruction of the isekai genre that references and sometimes pokes fun at various tropes. Artyom isn't some kid whose goal is to amass Levels or a harem. In fact, all he cares about is protecting other Earthers, and won't let anything like that get in the way! So expect to see: -A mature main character who still has some flaws. -Character development over the course of the story. -No harems! (see last point) -A vibrant world full of interesting people, deep culture, and mysterious lore that gets uncovered as the story goes on. -Plenty of funny moments along the way! -The presence of a few cliched tropes and stereotypes only for the sake of poking fun at them.
